Ferndearle School has been awarded the Safe at School (SAS) Anti-bullying Award a national award that recognises best practice in anti-bullying work. To gain the award the school had to demonstrate whole school approach to preventing and tackling bullying and commitment to pupil wellbeing.
The school was highly praised for its approach to safeguarding pupils and its preventative practice in anti-bullying work. Salus anti-bullying and e-safety co-ordinator Jill Allen said: “Ferndearle puts pupil wellbeing and positive relationships at the heart of their schools everyday approach to learning”
Head-teacher Zara Malyon said:
We are incredibly proud to receive this Award as testament to our philosophy in ensuring our pupils progress and thrive in a community that focuses on respect and courtesy towards others. Staff and students work tirelessly to reinforce that kindness and appreciation of others is a lifelong skill that enhances mental wellbeing.
The Safe at School Anti-bullying Accreditation is a nationwide award. Salus have worked with over 300 Schools to support gaining ‘Safe at School’ Anti-bullying Award through training, policy development and information. Salus are members of the Anti-bulling Alliance and Restorative Justice Council.
